SERVICES

A lifetime of study and practice have changed my understanding of pain, stress, and the factors that interfere with healing and health.

I've developed a system for trouble-shooting the body-mind system through simple muscle responses. This makes it possible to mix and match therapeutic techniques for maximum effectiveness.

My new “Ask-the-Body™” approach zeros in on the source of your problems and eliminates diagnostic guesswork, so we can clear things up quickly.

Techniques that support brain-body communication

A.S.A.P.™ stands for: Assisted Self-Alignment Protocol.

I developed my new  A.S.A.P.™ method to take maximum advantage of your brain's ability to participate in every aspect of body function—including its alignment. Read more about this technique here.

A missing link in human health: The Cranium.

Your head sits on top of your neck, much as a rider sits on a horse. If the rider can't guide and control the horse's movements, they will both be in trouble!

Chiropractic has traditionally been about moving the spinal segments or vertebrae so that nothing interferes with the spinal nerves, which transmit energy and information between the brain and the rest of the body.

At Head 2 Foot, we also recognize that the skull-on-spine relationship can make or break the ability to get and keep the spine and pelvis in balance. The brain and cranial nerves are at least as critical to normal function (health) as the spinal nerves.

Advanced education from chiropractic, osteopathic and dental sources makes it possible to evaluate and treat the complex neuromuscular relationships between he head and the spine."

Various types of physical traumas...starting with birth...can cause distortions in the alignment of cranial and spinal bones. These distortions interfere with the communication between the brain and body structures such as muscles, organs and blood vessels. In other words, you cannot enjoy maximum health when the skull and the spine are out of alignment.

Fortunately, the cranial and spinal bones can be resituated or "adjusted" by a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic knowledgeable and skilled in these disciplines. In my own practice, I use Applied Kinesiology testing to guide me in helping you restore a normal dynamic state to these bony structures. I have found that by checking for the right sequence and angles before moving any bones, that this process can be safe, gentle, satisfying and very therapeutic.

Training in cranial adjusting only takes place at the postgraduate level, rather than in chiropractic school. I started learning cranial adjusting, as well as spinal adjusting in 1976. I teach my own methods of cranial and spinal adjusting to members of my profession and other qualified doctors, worldwide.

TECHNIQUES

  • Everything going on inside the body, and in our surrounding environment affects us. Pure foods and water, the right remedies and even our thoughts can help us to be healthier. Toxic chemicals, viruses and certain electromagnetic frequencies can interfere with our health.

Applied Kinesiology, or Muscle Response Therapy, came into use as a way to measure the good--and bad--effects of various stimuli on the body starting in the 1960s. It can be used to measure whether something helps or harms us. I use it extensively in my practice to help me determine how to treat you effectively, efficiently and safely.

  • Developed by Dr. McKittrick Hyatt. The use of muscle testing to choose homeopathically formulated remedies for various types of symptomatic improvement. Excellent for people with low tolerance to pharmaceutical medications.

  • When we get hurt, the original injury may heal, but leave behind chronic problems that may seem unrelated.
Yes: we fall, get cuts, burns, sprains, fractures and concussions. We also undergo medical and dental procedures that are rough on the body, even when they are necessary. These include surgeries, mammograms, root canals and more.
Often, we are less flexible, less energetic and resilient after these normal, but difficult physical experiences. IRT, popularized and developed by the late Walter (Wally) Schmitt, D.C., is an Applied Kinesiology approach to helping us recover from the chronic effects of old injuries. It can really make a difference to have this work done. There are often dramatic improvements in physical flexibility afterwards.

  • Assessment and correction of abnormal reactivity to normal, everyday stimuli or activities, such as specific body positions
and activities like bending, lifting, driving and computer work...even emotional triggers. Light stimulation of acupuncture and neurological reflex points can put an end to temporary weakening of muscles that can aggravate spinal and other joint misalignments.

OTHER HEALING METHODS I USE

While I've been trained in Chiropractic College and postgraduate seminars in traditional chiropractic adjusting procedures, there are times and situations when more subtle or gentle approaches are more appropriate:

For example, pregnant women cannot lie face down on a table during later stages of pregnancy, but they often suffer with low back pain. I've developed my own methods for realigning them while they are sitting using indirect methods for getting the vertebrae to move.

These methods are also great for patients who are smaller (children and babies), or who may be undergoing cancer treatment, or who may have certain joint, bone or other conditions that lower their tolerance for more forceful adjusting approaches.

Many of the patients I see also have conditions that respond well to stress reduction approaches, homeopathic remedies and nutritional supplementation.

Chronically weak muscles may be a factor in slowing down improvement in chronic pain conditions. I use a variety of approaches to finding and correcting functional muscle weakness, which can greatly help in pain reduction and improvement in cases of recurrent structural (spinal and pelvic) misalignments.
